Understand the role and influence of political processes and organizations. Analyze historical and contemporary examples of extra-political efforts to protect and advance civil rights. Understand how extra-political effort examine and advance the rights and responsibilities of citizens and society. Students are able to compare and contrast effective extra-political civic efforts that support civil society.
