Indian Pride: Ep. 1: Historical Overview: Part 2

JuniKae Randall, host of Indian Pride, interviews Dr. Duane Champagne, who serves on the faculty advisory committee of UCLA's Native Nations Law and Policy Center and is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians in North Dakota. The interview covers American Indian creation stories before Christopher Columbus, early interactions between American Indians and the colonial and American governments, and the failure of the reservation system.

Policy regarding Indian country is discussed, including self-determination movements, especially regarding traditions, language, and self-government.
