Prairie Musicians: Ben Suchy

Ben Suchy was raised in a musical family on a ranch near Mandan, North Dakota. His experimentation with different styles has led him to inventing some of his own instruments. In his solo "Stomp-Grass" show, he's a virtual one-man band as he juggles 3 or 4 instruments. His unique style is derived from a mix of blues, folk, and rock, with a driving groove that makes the listener want to move.
Prairie Musicians is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008; the North Dakota Humanities Council, a nonprofit independent state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities; the North Dakota Council on the Arts; and by the members of Prairie Public.
