Voices from the Heartland - A Train Stuck in Town
“Voices from the Heartland” includes brief segments of oral history interviews done for the Dakota Memories Oral History Project. The interviewees, all of German Russian descent, grew up on the Northern Plains . They talk about incidents in their lives, including those related to growing up on a farm, transportation, family life, dating and weddings, work, fires, and World War II. North Dakota Senators Robert Erbele and Tim Mathern are commentators. Jessica Clark of North Dakota State University was the project coordinator. For more information on the Dakota Memories Oral History Project, Germans from Russia Collection, Germans from Russia Radio Series, North Dakota State University, please see www.ndsu.edu/grhc and Germans from Russia Radio Series
