    Educational opportunities include the following:

    1. Suitcase Exhibits for North Dakota (SEND Trunks) are available at a nominal fee by calling the Museum and Education Division at (701) 328-2794 or accessing the pdf file below. These trunks may be picked up or shipped. Trunks appropriate for this Early Settlement unit of study:

    3. In-Service Teacher Training—opportunities for in-service workshops. For more information, contact the Museum and Education Division at (701) 328-2792.
    4. Many additional educational resources (videos, CDs, DVDs, books, etc.) are available to educators through the State Historical Society of North Dakota of which the North Dakota Heritage Center is a part.
    5. Arrange for your class to visit the Heritage Center. Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance by calling the Visitor Services Coordinator at (701) 328-2674 or E-mailing the person listed below. One chaperone per 10 students is highly recommended.

    10. Historical Museum Guide for North Dakota. This site lists all the historical museums in North Dakota by counties. Some North Dakota history museums have virtual tours, old photos, place histories, genealogy data, history timelines, and other historical information online.
